Tomoaki Nagao aka Nigo became a fashion sensation after finding A Bathing Ape (BAPE) in 1993 which many believe was the first true Japanese streetwear brand. However, the sensational designer also triples as a record producer and disc jockey.

Nigo is extending his grip on global hip-hop fans with the release of the 2022 album I Know NIGO!. The 11-track album features performances from rappers that have either been spotted rocking the BAPE outfit or are Nigo’s business partners.

The first song on the album is Lost and Found Freestyle 2019 which features A$AP Rocky and Tyler, The Creator. As the name suggests, this track brings back the classical rap-style freestyles that we used to know from back the good old days.

Some of the tracks on the will definitely bring back painful memories. For example, track 9 titled Remember features Pop Smoke. Two years after his death and the track forces us to remember the good track that he delivered.

Nigo features Pharrell Williams and Gunna on the track Functional Addict—which also happens to be one of our best tracks off the album. After delivering the first verse, Williams also gives us a chorus that rap fans can vibe and sing along to.

Other rap heavyweights that are featured in the album are Pusha T, Tyler, The Creator, and A$AP Rocky. This is one album that will reverberate through 2020 and beyond.
