Westside Gunn’s "Hitler Wears Hermes 8: Sincerely Adolf" is Another Impeccable Tape in the Series

If your list of "Hardest Working Rappers" doesn't include Westside Gunn, it's automatically incomplete. Since dropping his incredible album Pray for Paris back in April of 2020, Westside Gunn hasn't slowed down one bit. He proceeded to follow that album (which should've been Grammy nominated) up with two more projects to close out 2020: Flygod Is An Awesome God 2 and WHO MADE THE SUNSHINE. Last week, the Buffalo rapper returned to his roots as he dropped the 8th installment of his Hitler Wears Hermes series: Hitler Wears Hermes 8: Sincerely Adolf.
Some of you may be thinking, "He really made eight mixtapes with Hitler's name in the title?". Yes he did and I fully support the reasoning. Taking inspiration from the classic movie "Devil Wears Prada", Westside flipped the title and added his flyness to it. “The whole Hitler Wears Hermes, you know the title, I wanted to come with some of the grimiest but flyest shit I could come up with. You know, everybody already used that Devil Wears Prada, and I’m just like, you know I want to flip that right there", said Westside in a 2012 documentary of "Hitler Wears Hermes".
What I love about this project is how it gets straight to it from the jump. No fluff. The tape is 13-tracks in total and runs for 40 minutes. Whether it's bars from Stove God Cooks, Boldy James, Conway The Machine, Benny The Butcher or the head bopping, boom-bap production from Denny Laflare, Conductor Williams, and Camoflauge Monk, not one minute of this project is wasted. I can confidently say that "Hitler Wears Hermes 8: Sincerely Adolf" is one of the best projects of 2021.
