TRIP (ALBUM) – JHENE AIKO
DUZI • September 22, 2017

Ever since Jhene Aiko and Big Sean released their collab LP, Twenty 88, we’ve been patiently waiting for Jhene to give us a follow up to her 2014 solo debut album, Souled Out. The wait is over as the soulful singer dropped her latest album, Trip, late last night. Boasting guest appearances from the likes of Big Sean, Swae Lee, Brandy, and much more, the album was inspired by all the different types of trips Jhene has experienced in her life. “[The album is] inspired by every type of trip you could imagine: mental, physical, even psychedelic. I’m at a point where I put it all in my music”, the singer/songwriter said in an interview with Complex. You can stream the entirety of “trip” below, enjoy.

Goddard and Cat Burns started the new year with a heater! These two went in and might have just made one of the best dNb tracks to come out this year and we're barely getting started. Wasted Youth is about an old lover venting their frustrations about the end of a long-term relationship in their cherished youth. Our youth is a highlight we all remember throughout our lives and Burns packs the feels and emotions that stir the pot of memories and emotions those who experienced this type of breakup might feel. Her voice is booming and beautiful throughout and, all in all, Wasted Youth is an emotional, high-energy hit that is ready to be blasted across the airwaves in the year to come.
