Sam Cahill Shines as Director for Machine Gun Kelly's Debut Documentary Life In Pink

Earlier this year, Nothin But Hits had the honor and privilege of introducing you to Seattle's very own Photographer, Videographer, and all-around talent,
Sam Cahill. In our Artist Of The Month Interview, Cahill couldn't tell us exactly what it was at the time, But, we can now confirm that he was working as the Director and editor of
Machine Gun Kelly's "Life in Pink" documentary.
The Life in Pink documentary is one that highlights Machine Gun Kelley's life story and how he made his way into the rock/pop punk scene. Starting from the trenches in Cleveland, Kelly has been musically gifted since a young age and has always had the drive to become a successful artist as a kid. Many did not see the vision even as he continued to climb the ranks as an up and coming rapper and hip hop artist in his early days. Lots of disrespects and ignorance from the media was a constant theme in MGK's career even though he was able to gather over a billon streams on his latest rap album Hotel Diablo. Some might say that it was almost given that MGK's haters would be there to do anything they can to stop the man from receiving his flowers from the critics. Well, all that changed during quarantine in 2020 as the troubled artist picked up a guitar and basically never looked back. 2020 was a transformative year for the world and MGK was a prime example of it all.

Life in Pink was MGK's first rock/pop-punk album and is his most popular date. The energy and dedication to this project radiated throughout the globe as it eventually skyrocketed to the #1 album in 2021. Sam Cahill has been here for it all, and we could not be more proud of the man as he was able to capture some of the most iconic and engaging photographs and videos of it all. From Jimmy Kimmel Live and the breathtaking ACL show to the VMA's and the Tickets To My Downfall Tour, he's had a first-hand view of this incredible rise to the top and has done a glorious job sharing it with the world.

Here's to our guy Sam Cahill, the Director and Editor of Machine Gun Kelleys 10/10 documentary, Life In Pink.
Also, a big shout out to MGK and his team for including his addiction and mental health battles in the film. Opening up like that has proven to bring light to his fans that have struggled with similar conflicts. Overall, it is refreshing to see someone comfortable enough to share their experiences while being a badass rockstar that personifies a tough, rugged, fuck it all mentality.
