Russ Shows His Teeth on his New EP, "Chomp"

If you continue to play with and tease a hungry dog, they'll eventually bite back. Likewise to that dog, Russ flexes his muscles and shows his teeth on his latest EP, Chomp. Since making a name for himself in the music industry, Russ has always been a polarizing person. Some people like him and some people hate him while others feel like he's just "another artist/non-rapper with a few good songs." While this EP won't change everyone's mind about him, it's sure to make rap fans pay closer attention to him. Throughout the 5-track project, Russ goes toe-to-toe with some of rap's lyrical elites (Benny The Butcher, Black Thought, Busta Rhymes, Ab-Soul, and Kxng Crooked) and holds his own over the DJ Premier, Alchemist, 9th Wonder, and self-produced records.

Whether or not this EP changed your original opinion about Russ is completely up to you, but one thing you can't say now after listening to the project is that Russ can't rap. Unlike some of your favorites, Russ took the challenge of rapping with some of the best and walked away unscathed. He earned that respect and then some.
