"MARIGOLD" BY ALEX ISLEY & JACK DINE IS PURE GOLD FOR SOUL MUSIC LOVERS

When was the last time you heard an album that was born from the organic collaboration from one producer and one artist? Marigold is definitely a must-have album for any soul music lover. Singer and songwriter Alex Isley and Grammy-nominated producer Jack Dine have always had a special connection, and that connection once again, shines brightly throughout "Marigold".
Although Isley and Dine worked almost exclusively to put together the 9-track album, 2 records off the album, On & On and Still Wonder, featured collaboration from Bas and Robert Glasper, respectively. The sublime drumline and rhythmic chimes that characterize most of the tracks on the album are infectious. The record "On & On" featuring Bas is one of my personal favorite tracks simply because of how Bas delivers his verse on it — "Happier days, table breakin' at the Mirage / Vegas, not with the guys, just you and I, do or die/ Can you blow the die for me when I try my luck again? / Before we kick the bucket, fuck it, can we fall in love again?." Hopefully this isn't the last collaboration from Bas, Isley, and Dine.
"Marigold" is generally a collection of love notes and messages that can both uplift and soothe a troubled heart. It has every potential to top the charts. It’s just a matter of time.
