Ipad – The Chainsmokers

Andrew and Alex – better known as The Chainsmokers – are two of the best to do it out there. In their latest release, they bring us Ipad, a song about distancing yourself from someone you love because of, unsurprising as it is, social media.
The lyrics tell us a story of someone looking from the outside how a loved one spends so much time on electronic devices without letting them into that world or sharing what they are so willing to share with other people. Ipad speaks an extremely important message about how life in social media isn’t as much of a priority as we sometimes make it. Followers aren’t always friends, and our presence online should never outshine our presence in the real world surrounded by the people who we love and who love us back. Here. Now. At this present moment.
The video is grunge and has all our favorite elements of it; it is creative and urban, nostalgic, chaotic in the best sense, shows us reality – or what reality is for many different people. It depicts a world with many faces, facets, ideas, hobbies, lifestyles, follows the theme of the lyrics by showing us the lives of people and how they share them with whomever they meet at any given moment. Real-life can be just as interesting as online life; we still get a chance to reach many people in the traditional way.
Have fun, talk. It’s easy, you just have to let it flow… and stop looking at the phone for a few, short, tiny-bitty minutes.
