COLLEGROVE (ALBUM) – 2 CHAINZ X LIL WAYNE

With the sudden news that 2 Chainz and Lil Wayne were set to drop a collaborative album, I personally could not happen been happier due to being a Weezy stan and knowing every time he links with Tity Boi it sure to be a hit dating back to Playaz Circle and their anthem Duffle Bag Boy. But at the same time I was a little hesitate with my expectations. I mean can you blame me? The truth is Wayne’s lack of quality music with recent tapes and staying relevant in news with the legal issues surrounding Birdman and YMCM in the last 12 months to go with the question of can 2 Chainz carry a solid project? But with a few listens through over the weekend, and only one to make up my mind on how I felt about it, I was pleasantly surprised. 2 Chainz gives one of his best performance in quite some time, maintaining his signature flow that we have grown to know and love but spitting some high level bars I haven’t heard from the College Park product in some time. As for Wayne, he assists on 8 of the tracks, murdering for the most part every verse lyrically posing as his arguably his best work in the last couple of years.
