BLONDE (ALBUM) – FRANK OCEAN

B PATT • Aug 20, 2016
At last! Frank Ocean‘s LONG overdue album Blonde (previously thought to be titled Boys Don’t Cry) finally sees the light of day. After about 4 years playing with fans emotions from built up anticipation, constant delays, plenty of pump-fake drops and then ramping the hype back up again, it is here in its entirety, for real for real. Premiering as an Apple Exclusive, this eclectic 17 track LP is everything we could’ve hoped for in such a pivotal piece. Building on his uniquely varied sound, blending a vast array of genres ranging from alternative soul to sedative acoustic R&B to experimental pop, Frank really gives us his all.

Now, normally I would go into detail and talk about the different parts of the album like the instrumentation, meanings behind some of the songs or the project as a whole, the different vibes throughout and what not, but this is just one of those things you have to experience for yourself, so I’m going to leave you to that. I’m just happy to finally be listening to this and I bet you’re itching too if you haven’t already gotten a chance yet. So without any further adieu, I present to you, Frank Ocean’s Blonde. But really, I genuinely hope you enjoy this as much as we did and it meets all of your expectations as it did ours. Be sure to like, share or let us know what you think in the comments below, or all of the above if you feel inclined!

Also, If you are one of those people that like to look behind the scenes and see who contributed to the making of this album, accredited music journalist Steven J. Horowitz shared the album credits seen in the “Boy’s Don’t Cry” magazine which was released in Frank’s LA pop-up shop. Check it out below.

Goddard and Cat Burns started the new year with a heater! These two went in and might have just made one of the best dNb tracks to come out this year and we're barely getting started. Wasted Youth is about an old lover venting their frustrations about the end of a long-term relationship in their cherished youth. Our youth is a highlight we all remember throughout our lives and Burns packs the feels and emotions that stir the pot of memories and emotions those who experienced this type of breakup might feel. Her voice is booming and beautiful throughout and, all in all, Wasted Youth is an emotional, high-energy hit that is ready to be blasted across the airwaves in the year to come.
