Take a Trip with Bathe on their New EP, "Bicoastal"

After months of anticipation, the Brooklyn-based duo Bathe have released their new EP, Bicoastal. Led by singles Sundress, Pull Up, and Bolero, Bathe looks to grab our attention once again with their their self-proclaimed "Surf R&B" musical style. Likewise to many projects we've received over the last year, the 9-track EP was created over the the course of the pandemic.
Named after the dream of being bicoastal; exploring the best of LA and NYC by having a crib on both the west coast and the east cost, Bathe first looked to expound on this idea but ultimately abandoned it. "The album started as an exploration of that concept, but over the course of the pandemic, it ended up being more about seeking solace internally rather than externally. Writing these songs taught us there’s more to feeling free than just traveling", says producer Corey Smith-West. Singer/songwriter Devin Hobdy added, "We started the project by writing about the exhilaration you feel at takeoff and the anxieties you pretend to leave on the tarmac. But quarantine molded it into our personal and still unresolved search for home in the things we’ve always known."
Having to be "stuck" inside with yourself or maybe a friend or two, if you're lucky, gave way for a lot of time for self-reflection. The duo looked to take advantage of that and the end result was this EP. You can stream "Bicoastal" below in its entirety.
