Steve Lacy's Unreleased Gems Have Seen The Light

New to us, but old to him, Steve Lacy's latest album The Lo-Fis, is completely comprised of old records that he made during his high school years. Lacy had announced mid-November that he would be dropping an album, "dropping most of my soundcloud songs and leaks officially along with unreleased demos n instrumentals. all songs are from when i was in high school. The Lo-Fis Dec 4 babyyyy", he said in an Instagram post.
While the album is 15-tracks long, it's only 25 minutes in total. Just as you start to get into the grove of a song it's already over before you know it, leaving you wanting more. Even during his formative years, you can hear the talent of an artist in the making as each record transitions into the next. The lo-fi sound has stuck with Lacy since his high school days and he's perfected it over his last two project, Steve Lacy's Demo EP and Apollo XXI. No timetable on a follow-up project to "Apollo XXI", but until that arrives, we'll just keep jamming to "The Lo-Fis."
