METRO BOOMIN’S “THANK GOD FOR THE DAY” DOCUMENTARY

DUZI • Apr 12, 2016

From being a student at Morehouse College to now becoming one of the biggest producers in the world, Leland Tyler Wayne, aka Metro Boomin, has earned the right to grace the latest cover of The FADER’s new Producers Issue, which you can read here. Alongside the magazine, Fader also published a short documentary, titled Thank God For The Day, that follows young Metro around from a studio session with Southside and 21 Savage to a sold-out Future show, and even to one of the happiest places on Earth, Disney World Magic City.

Speaking on his success, Metro Boomin said, ““I stay positive, keep positive energy to myself. I guess I developed this habit about not really worrying about shit. But that’s also one of my flaws. I feel like it’s one of my flaws. But I also feel like it’s one of my advantages. Because I never break down all the way and stress about shit. I just think about how much worse something could be and I’m like, ‘Alright, cool whatever.’ I’m nonchalant. If I stay negative in negative energy that’s what’s gonna come back.”

Goddard and Cat Burns started the new year with a heater! These two went in and might have just made one of the best dNb tracks to come out this year and we're barely getting started. Wasted Youth is about an old lover venting their frustrations about the end of a long-term relationship in their cherished youth. Our youth is a highlight we all remember throughout our lives and Burns packs the feels and emotions that stir the pot of memories and emotions those who experienced this type of breakup might feel. Her voice is booming and beautiful throughout and, all in all, Wasted Youth is an emotional, high-energy hit that is ready to be blasted across the airwaves in the year to come.
